While wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead have a variety of causes, one major contributor to those creases and crow’s feet are your muscles. When we frown, fret, or simply concentrate, the muscles of our forehead contract and furrow our eyebrows. Regularly raising our eyebrows results in a furrowed brow, while squinting and smiling broadly creases the skin around our eyes.
Over time, these repeated muscle contractions result in permanent vertical creases (‘elevens’), forehead wrinkles, and eye lines (crow’s feet).
