What it is
Laser hair removal reduces unwanted hair. The procedure can also improve inflammation and eliminate razor bumps, in addition to saving time down the line by eliminating the need to shave or wax.
Laser hair removal can be performed on any area of the body, including the neck, breasts, stomach/navel, arms, shoulders, bikini area (we perform Brazilian laser hair removals, too!), buttocks, legs, back, upper lip, cheeks, and chin. (Yes, laser hair removal is safe for your face!)
What to expect
Most individuals require 6 to 8 treatments of laser hair removal to eliminate unwanted hair, since hair follicles grow in cycles, and laser hair removal is only effective in the hair’s active growth stage. Spacing treatments across multiple sessions (the average length of a hair-growth cycle), ensures that each hair will be targeted at least twice during its active growth cycle, which is when it will respond to treatment.
How long does laser hair removal last? After multiple treatments, laser hair removal will lead to long term hair reduction ,but patients should not expect permanent hair removal. It is more effective, than waxing, plucking, or chemical depilatories. Over the course of treatments, hair growth is reduced by 80-90% . For the best results, you’ll likely need occasional maintenance sessions. These help ensure that the hair follicles don’t regenerate.
Does laser hair removal hurt? The procedure itself is typically not painful; most clients liken it to a rubber band being flicked against the skin. Although targeted skin may become red and tender for a few hours, this is similar to the after-effects of waxing and plucking.
Laser hair removal requires minimal downtime, and most patients return to normal, daily activities after leaving the office.
The process
Laser hair removal works by focusing a beam of light onto a patch of skin, where the light of the laser is absorbed by the dark pigment (melanin) in your hair. Once absorbed, the light rapidly heats your unwanted hair and, as a result, eliminates the hair follicle.
What it is
Similar to laser skin resurfacing, Sublative Skin Treatment is used to treat wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin textures (for instance, from acne scarring). Sublative works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production with radio frequency waves directed into the dermal (middle) layer of skin. While unhealthy surface tissue is eliminated through the heat of the electromagnetic waves, healthy skin remains intact. Most clients choose Sublative Skin Treatments to smooth facial wrinkles and scarring, though it can be performed on any other area of the body (except lips and eyelids).
What to expect
Sublative Skin Treatments are perfect for reducing the appearance of acne scarring, wrinkles, and general skin blemishes or unevenness. By boosting the body’s own production of collagen, Sublative Skin Treatment tightens the skin, fills increases, and leaves you with a smoother, healthier appearance.
Unlike laser skin resurfacing treatments, Sublative Skin Treatments use radio frequencies instead of a laser, making this process safe for all skin types, and providing a faster healing time than laser resurfacing treatments. With Sublative treatments, redness from skin stimulation typically lasts 2-3 days, while micro-scabbing (flaking off of old, unhealthy tissue) can be seen from 3-6 days following your treatment. Mineral make-up can be worn as soon as 24 hours post-treatment.
The process
The process involves using a small wand-like applicator with a one-time-use tip to deliver bi-polar radio frequency waves to your skin using a small grid of electrodes (which deliver the radio waves to your dermal – or middle – layer of skin). Over the course of 4-5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, unhealthy tissue flakes off and collagen production increases, leaving you with more healthy tissue, reduced scarring, wrinkles, and smoother skin across the entire area treated.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments can be added to both boost the effects of your procedure and reduce healing time.
